Bluetooth Mesh to Matter gateway

MESHLE Gateway: Bluetooth Mesh to Matter Bridge

The MESHLE Gateway bridges your MESHLE Bluetooth Mesh lighting to Wi-Fi and Matter — so the same lights answer to Apple Home, Google Home, and Alexa, and to your building management system over open APIs.

Why MESHLE Gateway

One bridge from Bluetooth Mesh to Matter and your BMS

Bluetooth Mesh to Wi-Fi bridge

The MESHLE Gateway is a bidirectional Wi-Fi to Bluetooth Mesh bridge. It also acts as a full Bluetooth Mesh node, relaying mesh commands into the network and out to your LAN — so local control and remote access run on the same mesh.

Matter-ready smart-home control

As a Matter bridge, the MESHLE Gateway exposes your Bluetooth Mesh lights to Apple Home, Google Home, and Amazon Alexa over Matter. One gateway, every major smart-home platform — no per-light pairing.

Open APIs for building management

Integrate the mesh straight into your BMS through gateway-level open APIs: REST (OpenAPI), MQTT, Modbus TCP/IP, and BACnet. All communication is encrypted, to MESHLE Cloud in Germany or to your local network by IP.

Matter bridge

Control your Bluetooth Mesh lights from Apple Home, Google Home, and Alexa

The MESHLE Gateway is a Matter bridge: it makes your MESHLE Bluetooth Mesh lights visible to Apple Home, Google Home, and Amazon Alexa over Matter. Group them, build scenes, and switch or dim them right from the smart-home app you already use — no separate MESHLE login required at the platform.

Because the gateway is Matter-ready, your mesh slots into the wider smart-home ecosystem without locking you into one brand. Setup is quick — Wi-Fi credentials are handed over from the MESHLE App via Bluetooth — and everything keeps running on the local mesh even when the cloud is offline.

Connectivity modes

Cloud, local, MQTT, and BMS connectivity

The MESHLE Gateway talks to MESHLE Cloud in Germany or to your own network by IP address — all of it encrypted. Pick the path that fits your install.

MESHLE Cloud

Connect to MESHLE Cloud, hosted in Germany, for remote control and multi-site management from the MESHLE App. Wi-Fi credentials are set up from the app over Bluetooth — no extra provisioning hardware.

Local / offline

Skip the cloud entirely and reach the gateway by IP on your own network. Local control keeps working without an internet connection, with all communication encrypted end to end.

MQTT

Publish and subscribe to MESHLE Cloud's broker or to a local MQTT broker on your own network — your choice, set during gateway provisioning in the MESHLE App.

Building-management protocols

Wire the gateway into your BMS with open, gateway-level APIs: REST (OpenAPI), Modbus TCP/IP, and BACnet — alongside MQTT — for status and control from your management platform.
Where the MESHLE Gateway fits

One gateway, from smart home to smart building

Matter smart home

Bring MESHLE Bluetooth Mesh lighting into Apple Home, Google Home, and Alexa through the Matter bridge, so the whole household controls it from the apps and voice assistants they already use.

Commercial BMS integration

Expose lighting to a building management system over REST, MQTT, Modbus TCP/IP, or BACnet — for monitoring and control alongside the rest of the building's systems.

Hospitality

Hotels and venues connect guest-room and common-area lighting to central management and smart-home platforms, while the local mesh keeps running room by room.

Industrial sites

PoE power and a single cable for data make the gateway easy to mount on the ceiling or in a panel, bridging mesh lighting to plant systems over Modbus or BACnet.

Retrofit an existing mesh

Already running a MESHLE Bluetooth Mesh install? Add a gateway to layer on Matter, remote access, and BMS integration — no need to touch the lights themselves.

Multi-gateway large buildings

Run several gateways — even on different cloud accounts — in one Bluetooth Mesh network, so large or multi-tenant buildings can share the mesh while keeping accounts separate.

Frequently asked questions

MESHLE Gateway and Matter

Is the MESHLE Gateway a Matter bridge?

Yes. The MESHLE Gateway is a Matter bridge: it exposes your MESHLE Bluetooth Mesh lights to Matter-compatible platforms. It is Matter-ready, so your mesh joins the wider smart-home ecosystem through the gateway.

Does it work with Apple Home, Google Home, and Alexa?

Yes. Through Matter, the gateway makes your Bluetooth Mesh lights available in Apple Home, Google Home, and Amazon Alexa — control and voice commands included, from one gateway.

Does the gateway work offline, without the cloud?

Yes. You can reach the gateway by IP on your own network instead of MESHLE Cloud, and the underlying Bluetooth Mesh runs locally regardless. All communication is encrypted, whether to the cloud in Germany or to your LAN.

Which building-management protocols does it support?

The MESHLE Gateway exposes open, gateway-level APIs for building management: REST (OpenAPI), MQTT, Modbus TCP/IP, and BACnet — for integration with most BMS and IoT platforms.

How is the MESHLE Gateway powered?

Two options: USB-C at 5 VDC, or Power over Ethernet (IEEE 802.3af) for a single cable carrying both data and power. Maximum input current is 1 A.

Can I run several gateways in one mesh?

Yes. Multiple gateways — even on different cloud accounts — can coexist in the same Bluetooth Mesh network, which suits large or multi-tenant buildings.

How do I set up Wi-Fi on the gateway?

Wi-Fi credentials are handed over from the MESHLE App over Bluetooth during setup, so no separate provisioning hardware is needed. The gateway supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n.

What's the difference between the gateway as a bridge and as a mesh node?

The MESHLE Gateway is a bidirectional Wi-Fi to Bluetooth Mesh bridge, and it also acts as a regular Bluetooth Mesh node — relaying mesh commands into the network and out to your LAN at the same time.
