Kinetic wireless switch

Battery-Free Bluetooth Switch

A kinetic wall switch that runs on the press of your finger. Every click harvests just enough energy to send a Bluetooth command into your MESHLE Bluetooth Mesh network — for a single lamp, a full room, or a scene across the building. Stick it to any surface. Pair it in the MESHLE app. Reconfigure it any time.

How it works

How a battery-free switch talks to your MESHLE network

The press generates the energy

Every click on the rocker moves a tiny magnet through a coil inside the switch. That motion produces a short electrical pulse — enough to power one Bluetooth transmission. No batteries. No wiring. No mains connection.

Bluetooth carries the command to the nearest mesh device

The switch sends its command over the air to the nearest MESHLE Bluetooth Mesh device within 15–20 m. That device — a driver, a controller, a sensor, a gateway — becomes the switch's entry point into the network.

The MESHLE mesh executes and relays

From that entry point, the command hops from node to node across the MESHLE Bluetooth Mesh network. Turn a single fixture on. Trigger a scene three floors down. Master-off the whole floor. Every action runs locally on the mesh — no cloud, no internet required.
Why battery-free

Six reasons projects standardise on kinetic switches

Zero batteries, zero maintenance

Each press generates its own power. Nothing to replace, nothing to service, no maintenance calendar to track. Fit and forget for the lifetime of the switch.

Stick it on any wall, tile, or glass

No electrician, no cable runs, no chased plaster. Mount on drywall, brick, tile, glass, or wood — or leave it loose as a portable remote on a bedside table.

Four buttons, up to eight actions

A double-rocker with four trigger points, each supporting short press, long press, and double click. Assign on/off, dimming, colour change, scene recall, or master-off to any of them from the MESHLE app.

Compatible with every MESHLE Bluetooth 5 device

Pair the switch with any Bluetooth 5-based MESHLE product — LED drivers, dimmers, controllers, gateways, sensors. If it's on the MESHLE Bluetooth Mesh network, this switch can control it.

Works offline, no cloud needed

Every command runs on the mesh itself. No Wi-Fi outage, ISP hiccup, or cloud downtime affects the switch. The lights respond even when the internet is gone.

One switch, many lights — or many switches, one light

A single switch can control a whole room, a floor, or a saved scene. Add a second, third, or tenth switch to the same fixture — no wired two-way circuits, no rewiring, no downtime.

Pair a kinetic switch with MESHLE Swarm to override presence-driven light with a single press. Every button, every action, and every paired device is configured in the free MESHLE app.

Where it fits

Battery-free switches for places where wiring is the problem

Hotels & hospitality retrofits

Add wall switches to guest rooms without opening plaster or rerunning cables. Standardise on one hardware SKU across every room, then configure each room's behaviour in the MESHLE app.

Offices & meeting rooms

Open floor plans change every quarter. Kinetic switches move with the layout — peel, restick, and reassign from the app. No electrician for every reshuffle.

Rental apartments

Renters can't rewire. Stick a battery-free switch anywhere for dimming, scenes, and master-off — then take it with you when you move out. Nothing left behind, nothing to patch up.

Industrial & hard-to-wire spots

Production floors, warehouses, and hard-to-reach columns often make new cable runs slow, expensive, or impossible. A kinetic switch mounts in minutes and joins the same MESHLE Bluetooth Mesh network as the fixtures overhead.

FAQ

Battery-free switch questions, answered

How can a switch work without a battery?

It uses kinetic energy harvesting — EnOcean technology. Pressing the rocker moves a small magnet through a coil, generating a short electrical pulse that powers one Bluetooth transmission. No batteries, no capacitors to top up, no external power. The energy comes from the press itself.

What's the range of a battery-free switch?

The switch itself reaches roughly 15–20 metres to the nearest MESHLE Bluetooth Mesh device. Once the command lands on that device, it hops from node to node across the entire MESHLE Bluetooth Mesh network — so a switch in one room can trigger a scene several floors away.

How many switches and lights can I combine?

One switch can control a single light, a group, or a saved scene across the whole building. And multiple switches can drive the same fixture — like a traditional two-way circuit, but without the wiring. Add or remove switches from the MESHLE app whenever the layout changes.

Does it need internet or a phone to work?

No. Configuration happens once in the MESHLE app, then everything runs locally on the MESHLE Bluetooth Mesh network. Your Wi-Fi can be off, the router down, the cloud unreachable — the switch still controls its paired lights.

Can I install it on an existing wall without construction work?

Yes. There are no cables to pull and no boxes to mount. Stick the switch to the wall with its adhesive backing, or fit it into an existing plate. It works on painted plaster, tile, glass, brick, or wood.
